Last year, Facebook owned company, WhatsApp has announced to end support for BlackBerry OS and Nokia S40 platform. But Later on WhatsApp extended support for BlackBerry and Nokia platform till June this year. But it seems like the users on the said platform may need some more time to shift to newer operating systems. So now according to reports, WhatsApp Supports for BlackBerry and Nokia Platforms Extended Once Again till December 2017.

BlackBerry 10, BlackBerry OS7+, and Nokia S40 users have now get more time to shift to new operating system. As compared to BlackBerry, there are a limited number of customers who use the Nokia S40 platform nowadays. However, Nokia S60 users don’t have much time as WhatsApp will end its support on the platform on June 30 this year.
To keep chatting using the messaging app, users may want to update their WhatsApp app to the latest compatible version through the BlackBerry World app store installed on their phones. However, Newer BlackBerry phones like Aurora and KEYone will not be affected, as they run Android instead of BlackBerry OS.
Moreover, WhatsApp confirmed that those users on Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 along with Windows Phone 7 won’t be capable to use WhatsApp at the beginning of 2017. However, for those who want to use WhatsApp, must have at least Android 2.3.3, iOS 7 or Windows Phone 8.
Let’s see whether it is a final extension or WhatsApp will extend again its support to BlackBerry and Nokia platforms.
