KARACHI: Pakistan team management is likely to rest its two main strike bowlers for the third T20I against West Indies in Karachi.
“It’s being considered to rest Hassan Ali and Mohammad Aamir for the third T20I today,” said a source.
“Usman Shinwari is going to make it into final XI while either Rahat Ali or Shaheen Shah Afridi will make into the team as well,” the source added.
Pakistan has already taken a decisive 2-0 lead in the three-match series against West Indies. A clean sweep will ensure that Pakistan maintains its number one T20 ranking. A loss would lead to Australia taking over the top spot.
Pakistan has dominated the series, winning the first match by 143 runs and the second by 82 runs. Pakistan’s top order has been brilliant with an unbeaten 97 by Babar Azam in the second match and Hussain Talat scoring 41 and 62 during the series.
Former Pakistan test captain Ramiz Raja has credited skipper Sarfraz Ahmed for choosing a high-quality team in the ongoing West Indies series.
“It is not easy to captain a young team,” he said. “Sarfraz has supported the team. We have to give the credit to him for winning the series.”
The match is expected to start at 7:30pm PST.
