KARACHI: Security agencies raided various hideouts of suspects alleged to be members of the banned outfit Daesh in Karachi, on Wednesday.
According to details, security agencies conducted raids at various hideouts of a suspected militant network of Daesh across Clifton, Defence, Bahadurabad and Malir. Five suspects were rounded up, among which two were women.
The suspects were allegedly in contact with banned outfit Daesh which has reportedly conducted terrorist attacks in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and in other parts of the world.
Security agencies’ sources claimed that the Daesh network was trying to solidify its base in the city since a while back and was trying to organise its chapter in Karachi.
Mobile phone records of the arrested suspects is also being sought. The suspects were taken to an undisclosed location where they were further interrogated.
