DERA BUGTI: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will visit Dera Bugti’s Sui area in Balochistan, where he will inaugurate the Kachhi canal project.
The prime minister will also address the participants of the groundbreaking ceremony.
According to official sources, the prime minister will reach Sui on a one-day visit at 11 AM.
Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Home Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and other leaders will also address the gathering.
Upon the premier’s visit, a holiday has been declared in the district of Dera Bugti today.
On Sept 8, PM Abbasi inaugurated the country’s fifth nuclear power plant, C-4, at Chashma. The plant has a capacity to generate 340 megawatts of electricity.
Kachhi canal project is of great importance for the development of water infrastructure and irrigated agriculture in Balochistan. The total estimated cost of the project is around Rs80 billion. The 363km long main canal (of which 351km is lined canal) takes off from Taunsa Barrage in Muzaffargarh district and comes to an end at Dera Bugti district.
