ISLAMABD: The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday forced a fine of Rs10,000 on an applicant looking for preclusion of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Minister for Interior Sheik Rashid Ahmed.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah additionally excused the appeal for being trivial.
Candidate Fidaullah Marwat was looking for preclusion of Imran Khan and Sheik Rashid based on their public talks after Yousuf Raza Gilani got a Senate seat by overcoming Abdul Hafeez Sheik. In their addresses, they discussed horse exchanging and pay off during the Senate political race.
“The plain perusing of the update shows that no genuine ground has been raised to engage the appeal. The statements made in the reminder of appeal makes clearly the solicitor is looking for meandering request. The applicant prior to documenting of the request had not looked for proficient legitimate exhortation,” the court noted. In the interim, Senator Waleed Iqbal, the guidance for Prime Minister Imran Khan, looked for time to react to an appeal recorded by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) pioneer Khawaja Mohammad Asif.
