Usman Shinwari and Fakhar Zaman helped Pakistan seal an easy victory over Sri Lanka in the 5th ODI at Sharjah to complete a series whitewash on Monday.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first against Pakistan and managed to score only 103 runs in Sharjah in the final ODI.
Sri Lanka made three changes in their bowling line-up as Vishwa Fernando, Dushmantha Chameera and Jeffery Vandersay are in place of Akila Dananjaya, Lahiru Gamage and Suranga Lakmal.
One change for Pakistan, Faheem Ashraf in for Junaid Khan.
Pakistan, missing Mohammad Amir as their first-choice new-ball bowler, were helped by Shinwari, who dismissed the first-five Sri Lanka batsmen in his initial spell of five over.
He went for only 24 runs.
After the damage was done, Sri Lanka never looked like coming back in the match with Thisara Perera the only batsman to show some resilience with 25 runs courtesy three boundaries and a six.
Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan bagged two wickets apiece for Pakistan later.
Pakistan needed only 104 runs to whitewash Sri Lanka.
This was Pakistan’s third consecutive ODI series whitewash.
