President Dr Arif Alvi was apprised on Monday that China would offer 100 million doses of coronavirus vaccine to Pakistan by the top of this year.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong, during a gathering with the president, informed Dr Alvi that China would offer six million doses of vaccine in the week , while 100m more doses would be provided by the top of the year, said a politician handout issued by the Presidency.
During the meeting, Pakistan and China reaffirmed their resolve to further boost bilateral cooperation in various fields for the mutual advantage of the 2 countries.
Both sides emphasised the necessity for creating collective efforts to market peace, prosperity and development within the region.
The meeting also underlined the necessity for enhancing cooperation within the field of data technology.
Speaking on the occasion, the president said that China and Pakistan enjoyed excellent relations and therefore the “All-weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” between the 2 countries would further take the bilateral relationship to new heights.
He said that the 2 time-tested friends had always stood by one another through thick and thin.
