I’m afraid of the current situation in my nation. The entire system is in danger of collapsing; it’s not simply a question of social norms and society falling. There are several people ready to gently push it over; all it needs is a little prodding. Is anyone trying to prevent the impending disaster out of concern for this situation, or are we all working in our unique ways to hasten the process of self-infliction?
There are strong forces at work in our midst that has made it their mission to manipulate the current situation to fit their preconceived notions of what a nation should stand for and the kinds of policies it should or shouldn’t follow. Even a relationship with criminal elements—the majority of whom have either received prison sentences of varying lengths or are wanted by the law—is openly advocated to carry out this self-serving scheme. As a result, the nation now has a group of ex-convicts and fugitives in charge, prescribing how to implicate every member of society by removing those who uphold the law and show opposition when faced with challenging circumstances. As a result, the country no longer has a system that equitably administers justice to everyone, a caring and effective government, or leadership that would prioritise tackling the serious problems the state is currently facing. Instead, we have a repulsive spectacle that constantly stands up for the rights of criminal elements and their fellow citizens while packing off law-abiding individuals to spend time in prison.
The disparity between the political forces is terrifying, or at least that is how the strong forces acting from the darkness all around us have portrayed it. The entire criminal class, who are accused of amassing enormous amounts of pelf and who have a tonne of cases stacked up against them at various stages of prosecution, including indictment, are all together in this coalition to rule a nation that has seen grievous injustices in the past and where convicting the wealthy and powerful elements is still a pipe dream. They are attempting to remove Imran Khan from the political scene with their united might, which is based on the exploitation of the executive authority that a broken system bestows upon each of them. Why is that, then? Because Khan has never been a member of a criminal organisation and has no intention of joining one now that the entire system is working to have him disqualified from holding public office. Furthermore, they are seeking proof when none is accessible. However, the operators’ job is to make sure that something is dug out, no matter what.
Even while they might desire everything to go according to the plan given to them by the operators lurking in the shadows, it won’t be that easy. Due to Khan’s unwavering commitment to his principles and courage, as well as the wide-ranging support he receives from all walks of life, the route is paved with impassable obstacles. The political climate is also marked by a spirit of resistance, especially toward the criminal clique of leaders who have been installed in positions of authority after being essentially freed from prison. To obtain a reprieve from their crimes and, in the process, make the accountability process into a sham, members of this criminal organisation also act as judges, lording over the incorporation of changes to rules and laws and appointing individuals of their choosing to important positions within institutions handling their cases. In the future, when clans like Sharif, Zardari, Fazl, and others attempt to impose their unlawful sway on the nation, that would legitimise the reign of crime.
Anarchy is quickly escalating in our society as a result of the government’s breakdown and the growing difficulties faced by the average person in surviving. Khan’s removal justification was never accepted by anyone. However, the defiance is now mixed with rage over the overtly fascist treatment given to Khan, the PTI, and its officials. There is a huge reaction developing that might explode at any moment.
The entire strategy of a locally supported but foreign-inspired regime change has failed. In its place, a group of convicted felons and crooks are now in charge, leading the nation to the verge of insolvency. The figurative begging bowl that is being taken to every nook and cranny of the globe has grown enormous. There are rumours that governmental properties are now being rented out as a last-ditch effort to raise money from other nations. Whether or not such is the case, the process would seriously undermine national sovereignty and independence. However, the current crop of criminals don’t seem to care about this since they only have one goal in mind: to have their names removed from the accountability bureau’s and the investigative agencies’ record books. What happens to cases that are pending in various courts of law or situations where the criminal cabal’s leaders are to be indicted remain separate issues that will require the use of other authorities. One widely accepted myth that is going around is that offences will be pardoned on the parliament’s floor. How realistic such a choice would be is still up for debate.
A bloody mess, that’s what it is. Unless, of course, those who carried out the foreign-inspired regime change scheme would own their error and demonstrate a readiness to make reparations, there doesn’t seem to be an easy way out of it. It would be devastating to attempt to remove a leader of Khan’s size, prominence, and substance via fictitious means. It is hoped that reason will not be fully lost since doing so would bring the nation dangerously close to anarchy and mayhem. Elections that are free, fair, and transparent must be held right away if there is to be a solution.
