ISLAMABAD – A three-day anti-polio campaign will begin in twelve districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and nineteen districts of Balochistan on Monday.
The districts include Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Swat, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank and D.I.Khan.
About four point seven million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops during the campaign.
In Punjab, anti polio drive will begin in Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Bhakkar, Sheikhupura, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Mianwali districts on Monday.
During the campaign, over seven point two six million children will be administered anti-polio drops.
Three-day anti-polio drive in nineteen districts of Balochistan will also start from tomorrow.
According to Provincial Coordinator Polio Emergency Operation Centre, one point eight million children up to five years of age will be vaccinated against polio in Balochistan province.
Foolproof security measures have been taken to ensure the security of Polio teams.
Five days anti-polio drive will also commence in Karachi on Monday.
The campaign will be held in one hundred and 62 Union Councils of the city. During the campaign, over 1.7 million children will be administered anti-polio drops.
Seven thousand polio workers will perform duty during the drive.
