Five terrorists were killed in three separate encounters with security forces within the Kulgam and Pulwama districts of Jammu and Kashmir within the past 24 hours.
Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the Zadar area of Kulgam district following information about the presence of militants within the area.
The search operation became an encounter when the militants opened fire at the safety forces. Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed within the encounter.
Two more militants were killed during a separate encounter in Pulwama and another was neutralized in Handwara. A top Hizbul terrorist, Mehrazuddin Halwai alias Ubaid, was killed within the Handwara encounter.
So far, five militants are killed in three separate encounters within the past 24 hours.
