The Pakistan School Sports Federation (PSSF) is a national governing body for school-level sporting activities with its headquarters in Lahore, Pakistan. Founded in 2017, it is registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI, 1860.
With an ardent team of founders who have represented Pakistan internationally in various sports including cricket and hockey, PSSF has a passion for developing the sports sector within the country.
PSSF aims to harness the power of sports and the values that it instills (teamwork, volunteering, peace, non-discrimination and social inclusion, health & wellness, and gender equality, etc.) among young people aged between 10-17 years.
PSSF pursues its goals independently from political, religious, racial or socio-economic considerations and firmly believes that sports are the best platform to break all such barriers and vitalize harmony.
- PSSF’s mission is to promote sports locally and empower youth from all backgrounds to represent Pakistan on global platforms internationally.
- The federation aims to have a pool of talent ready at the grass-roots level so that it can be polished and trained to bring awards home on bigger platforms later on.
- PSSF is responsible for organizing national championships for schools locally and hosting international events in collaboration with federations across the globe.
- The federation not only aims to encourage athletes and players but also to instill a culture of promoting sports as a profession (sports management, sports marketing, sports psychology, biomechanics, etc.) and conducting awareness campaigns around it.
PSSF is affiliated with The International School Sports Federation (ISF) which is the international central body for school sport. Founded in 1972, the federation has been organizing international competitions to encourage education through sport. It has 113 members from six continents. ISF is recognized by the International Olympic Committee since 1995 and is a member of SportAccord. Its headquarters are based in Brussels, Belgium.
