At least one security personnel was martyred and three were injured during a search operation in Turbat on Tuesday.
Frontier Corps were conducting a raid based on intelligence information in Balochistan’s Turbat district when militants opened fire at the security forces. Two militants were killed in retaliatory action by the FC officials.
Sources said a search operation had been launched after at least 20 bullet-ridden dead bodies of men belonging to Punjab were recovered since last week. A high-level commander of Baloch Liberation Front [BLF], Younus Tawakulli, was killed in one of the raids.
Further search operations have been launched in the nearby areas on suspicious of militant presence.
in the day recovered 18 abducted persons, 16 out of which are reported to be foreigners. The search operation was carried out on the outskirts of Kech (Turbat) where the abducted people were held. The persons were trying to illegally enter Europe, and amidst their trip, were kidnapped and abducted.
Balochistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) carried out the operation with the help of other institutional organisations. All 18 persons were recovered from a single house in the region which also had a huge cache of weapons. All weapons found were seized immediately.
