ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan alleged that Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s latest statement was part of the Dawn Leaks agenda to malign the armed forces of Pakistan and appease hostile external powers.
Khan’s response came shortly after the interior minister, in a press statement, stated that DG ISPR Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor should refrain from making statements on state of economy.
“Such irresponsible statements can dent Pakistan’s image globally,” Iqbal said, adding that economy was not army’s business.
“Ahsan Iqbal’s unwarranted attack on ISPR is absurd because the dismal state of Pakistan’s economy is known to the world,” Khan said.
The PTI chief said that the ruling party had always put the future generations under foreign debt.
“The Sharif-Dar combine has crushed the nation under debt for generations to come. The Sharif darbaris cannot fool the nation,” he added.
