ISLAMABAD: ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador David Hale, in a meeting with National Security Adviser Nasser Janjua, said the US President Donald Trump did not blame Pakistan for failure in Afghanistan.
The US envoy acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror and hoped that the country would continue to play a cooperative role.
“The additional US troops in Afghanistan will also act against Pakistan’s enemies,” said Hale and added that the US is aware of Pakistan’s concerns over India’s role in Afghanistan.
He further said that Washington is ready to help reduce Pakistan-India tensions.
Hale said that Pakistan’s role toward resolution of the Afghan issue has not been ruled out.
Earlier this month, Trump cleared the way for the deployment of thousands more US troops to Afghanistan, backtracking from his promise to rapidly end America’s longest war while pillorying ally Pakistan for offering safe haven to “agents of chaos.”
“We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting,” he said, warning that vital aid could be cut. “That will have to change and that will change immediately.”
In response, Janjua said Pakistan is carefully analysing new US policy and it is pondering over all options. “The statement by the US president hurt sentiments of the Pakistani people and government.”
He said that Pakistan was wrongly accused and threatened, which gave a negative perception, adding, “Pakistan’s nuclear weapons were wrongly linked to terrorists and the new US policy created an atmosphere of uncertainty and regional imbalance”.
The Pakistani NSA stressed that everyone should work together for ending dispute in Afghanistan.
What are you deaf or just stupid.
The writing is on the wall, the US will begin to view Pakistan in a China aand Russia centric world.
Unlike India we are not developed as an economy to balance this out through am economic partnership.
The Trump administration like Obama does not have any remote love for Pakistan and wants to use it a whipping boy in Afghanistan.
The Tajiks and Uzbeks in power in Afghanistan have no live for Pakistan and on the other side we have India.
Pakistan must renegotiate its relationship with US. The US can not simply use our roads and infrastructure for their purposes. Pakistan must close down clandestine CIA operations out of their facilities in Islamabad.
Pakistan MUST send all Afghans home and continue sealing the border.
Pakistan does not have to have anon foreign policy on Kaahmir it needs to be firm and aggressive.
India will only negotiate with Pakistan if Pakistan is in a position of strength. It has bo intention of peaceful coexistence and we must never think otherwise.
Time for Pakistan to play chess and get some strategic moves in position. US will not care for Indian expansionist ideas no more than Pakistan’s into Central Asia because she wants to continue being ths Alpha in that region.
America has demanded India cough up financially to build up Afghanistan as a test to see how much of a friend she really is.
Pakistan must be militarily strong and assertive because we will be tested in the weeks and months to come and we need to respond with an iron fist. Pakistan must behave like Turkey, aggressice and not afraid of taking punitive strikes over the border West and East.
