4. The delicacies that come with Ramazan!
Pakoras, samosas, fruit salads, juices, our favourite sharbats, dahi baray and what not! After famishing from sunrise to sunset, we look forward to breaking our fast with some sumptuous meals.
5. Less work timings are always a blessing
Sure, fasting during the month of Ramazan does exact quite a toll on the human body and mind but here in Pakistan and in other Muslims countries, office times are relaxed. That is quite a bit of relief in itself.
6. Prayers
Whether it be the taraveeh prayers or the obligatory ones, prayers offer more comfort and spirituality in the month of Ramazan. Mosques are decorated and frequented more by people.
7. The recitation of the Holy Quran
Muslims recite and pay particular attention to the Holy Quran during the month of Ramazan. This holy month gives us a chance to derive the most fruitful lessons from the word of God and implement them in our lives.
8. Itikaf
During the last 10 days of Ramazan, Muslims stay for a limited amount of time within the confines of a mosque and dedicate their time in only the worship of Allah. During this time, a person taking part in itikaf is not allowed to take part in his worldly affairs.
9. A sense of empathy that results in charity
It is in the month of Ramazan that a person feels hungry, thirsty and has to go an entire day without food. Not only does this teach us discipline but also the importance of various blessings in our lives. Hence, Muslims spend out of empathy and sensitivity in this month more than the rest for the impoverished.
10. A refresher for the rest of the year
Though Muslims rejoice with Eid celebrations at the end of Ramazan, we are often sad when we bid farewell to this holy month. However, we do derive valuable lessons of spirituality from Ramazan which alters our behaviour and personality for the better, for the rest of the year.
